Dev Anand has been one of the most versatile and veteran actors of the Indian cinema. There’s no denying the fact that he has achieved several milestones in his career and is very well-known in the film industry. Gong by his achievements, one of them is his lavish bungalow located in Mumbai. Post the demise of Dev Anand, the Juhu bungalow has reportedly been left abandoned. His wife and kids moved out of the bungalow.

Dev Anand’s Juhu bungalow is NOT replaced with a 22-storey tower

ETImes reached out to Ketan Anand, son of Dev Anand’s brother Chetan. Ketan denied the reports of the house being sold. He said, “No, it’s false news. I have checked with Devina and the family.”

Hindustan Times had reported that the Juhu bungalow of Dev Anand would be turned into a 22-storey tower. Furthermore, a top real estate company has bought the bungalow. Reportedly, the deal was confirmed and the paperwork was in process. The report stated, “It has been sold for approximately Rs.350-400 crores as it’s a prime location with bungalows of prominent industrialists in the locality.” Turns out, the reports are false.

The location of the bungalow is one of the prime areas of Mumbai city as it also abodes the residences of various celebrities and well-known industrialists. Reportedly, Dev Anand’s house is being sold because there is no one to look after it. Along with it, the report also stated that the bungalow will be torn down to bring up a 22-storeyed tower in its place. 

Indian Cinema was blessed with one of the superstars Dev Anand. The actor has decorated the Indian Cinema with a contribution of over 100 films. His career spans over six decades. It was in 2001 when the Government of India honored him with Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honor. Apart from this, he was also awarded with Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2002. The award is the most prestigious one when it comes to Indian Cinema.
