Dharma Productions announces two films in two days. Details inside…

Since yesterday, Dharma Productions has announced back to back two films on two dates, at the same time. Let’s start with today’s announcement. Filmmaker Karan Johar has shared the title of his upcoming movie and it will be called ‘Brahmastra’. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and also the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles.

The announcement says, “Dharma Productions is proud to announce one of its most ambitious films. Ayan Mukerji’s next directorial venture. We embark on a journey into the realm of a fantasy adventure series which will be a trilogy. Collaborating on this exciting journey with us is Fox Star Studios and Namit Malhotra. We are honoured to have Mr. Amitabh Bachchan lead our cast along with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The first part of our big screen spectacle will release on August 15, 2019. Also we finally have a title “BRAHMASTRA”.

Well, this one sounds damn exciting. For those who don’t know, the working title of the movie was ‘Dragon’. So, for those who are unaware, ‘Brahmastra’ is a Sanskrit word which means an astra (weapon) created by Lord Brahma. Similar weapons like Brahmashirsha astra and Brahmanda astra were also created to be even more powerful. (Also Read: Karan Johar is so envious of Sanjay Leela Bhansali!)

Yesterday, at the same time, Karan had shared the first announcement in the form of a movie named ‘Kesari’. The movie is jointly presented by Karan Johar and Akshay Kumar and is based on one of the bravest battles that were fought in India; the Battle Of Saragarhi. It is directed by Anurag Singh and features Akshay Kumar in the lead role and will be releasing during Holi 2019. Have a look at his tweet:
