Dia Mirza condemns Sanjay Raut’s ‘haramkhor ladki’ remark on Kangana Ranaut; asks him to apologise

Dia Mirza has come out in support of Kangana Ranaut as she condemned Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut’s derogatory remarks on her. Dia also asked Raut to apologise. Dia said that one might not agree with Kangana’s views but using abusive language for her is uncalled for.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut called Kangana Ranaut ‘haramkhor ladki’ on national television and that has irked several celebs over the use of such demeaning language.

Calling out Raut for his derogatory remark, Dia took to her Twitter handle and wrote, “Strongly condemn the word ‘haramkhor’ used by @rautsanjay61. Sir you have every right to express your displeasure for what Kangana has said but you must apologise for using such language. (sic)”

“The last few months have seen an unprecedented rise in name-calling and personal abuse. It is something that undermines every effort made to build a safe/equal society for women. Unfortunately, many women are also perpetuating this culture. This must stop. Let’s stand together!,” Dia further tweeted.

Whereas reacting on Raut’s comment, Kangana had taken to her Twitter handle and posted, “In 2008 Movie Mafia declared me a Psycho, in 2016 they called me a Witch and Stalker in 2020 Maharashtra Minister publicity gave me the title of Haramkhor Ladki, because I said after a murder I feel unsafe in Mumbai, where are INTOLERANCE debate warriors? (sic)”

Kangana recently compared Mumbai to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and that led to several celebs expressing their displeasure on her comments. A section of netizens also bashed Kangana for her comment.

Raut had called Kangana a ‘haramkhor ladki’ while commenting on her comparison of Mumbai with Pok. Post, Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, Kangana has constantly called out Mumbai police for the way the case was handled by them. The actress also has said that 99 per cent of Bollywood biggies consume drugs and she is willing to help Narcotics Control Bureau with their investigation if she gets protection from central government.
