Dia Mirza shares her experience of hosting UN’s Champions of the Earth award with Alec Baldwin

Dia Mirza loves nature and wildlife. Apart from being an actress, she is the United Nation Environment’s Goodwill Ambassador for India. The ‘Sanju’ actress recently hosted UN’s Champions of the Earth award with American actor Alec Baldwin.

If you go through Dia Mirza’s Instagram account, you will see most of her posts are related to wildlife and nature. She loves travelling and keeps her fans updated with her whereabouts. Dia took to her Instagram to share few pictures from the award function. She captioned the pictures as, “I have had the honour of hosting for the second year in a row Champions of the Earth Awards, a truly motivating and inspiring platform that brings together some of the finest human beings on the planet. People and organisations that truly care about progress and the planet united by the belief that profitability cannot come at the cost of the environment. To be able to host this year’s awards with @alecbaldwininsta made the experience all the more special.”

The awards were presented on September 26 in New York and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also got an award which he dedicated to India’s tradition of co-existing with nature.

On the work front, Dia last appeared in Rajkumar Hirani‘s ‘Sanju’ where she played the role of Ranbir Kapoor’s on-screen wife. She got a positive response for her role Maanayata Dutt in the film. She will be next seen in Shoojit Sircar’s ‘Shoebite’ that also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sarika and Jimmy Sheirgill in pivotal roles.
