‘Sanju’ actress Dia Mirza recently took to Twitter to laud Mahesh Bhupathi and Lara Dutta’s stance on the #MeToo movement. Tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi (who is Lara Dutta’s husband) released a long statement condemning the accused and urging everyone to disassociate with them completely.
In his statement, he wrote, “To all those who are in a position of influence through their massive social platforms, I have a simple appeal. Stop engaging. Alienate these “serial predators”. Show them that while the law and investigative agencies will take their course, society should– and will– reject them. The stance needs to crystal clear– guilty unless proven innocent.”

#stopengaging . Everyone seems to be horrified about the #metoo stories but why is no one saying anything?#useyourvoice #timesup #CleanUp pic.twitter.com/FGOukZLyuF

He also wrote that he has personally or professionally engaged with Suhel Seth, Anu Malik, Sajid Khan and a few others. He stated that his association will end today on all counts.
Praising this message, Dia Mirza took to Twitter and wrote, “I feel so proud to call you a friend @Maheshbhupathi. This is how things will truly change. #StopEngaging #TimesUp #MeToo #CleanUp #UseYourVoice”

In the wake of the #MeToo movement, this is a very important message from Mahesh Bhupathi. Indeed, it will be difficult for victims to find justice considering the cases seem to go on for years before a final judgement is passed.
