Bollywood actress Dia Mirza believes in speaking her mind and doesn’t shy away from calling spade a spade. The actress has always championed the rights of women and battled for equality in the industry.
Now, recently a delegation from the Bollywood met PM Narendra Modi in Delhi to discuss a range of issues. But, the peculiar thing from that meeting was there was not a single woman member part of the delegation.
On Tuesday (December 18), an 18-member panel, including Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Ajay Devgn, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Ritesh Sidhwani and CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi, met the prime minister to discuss how to take the entertainment industry to the next stage.
Dia Mirza was quite upset and made her frustration known by taking to Twitter and posting this message.
This is wonderful! Is there a reason why there were no women in this room? @akshaykumar https://t.co/oO9teT3Gyi

When one of the social media users pointed out that the organizers of the meet need to questioned for selecting an all-male group, Dia responded and agreed with the individual.
True. Wish one of the men had asked this question. How can an entire Industry be represented only by men? https://t.co/SqeRGFT3FV

When some Twitter user told Dia not to make this a male vs female competition issue. Dia Mirza very calmly put across her point of view.
It’s not about competition! It’s such a fundamental thing. If we hope to achieve equality we must be included in all conversations! Of course women are doing well. We are doing well despite the fact that we are excluded. And doesn’t that need to change? https://t.co/D9ug3OG55U

I am crazy and obsessed with politics, sports and entertainment. A journalist, who is not afraid to give his opinion and believes in calling spade a spade. I like to think on my feet and come up with original, fresh and out of the box ideas.
