Recently, Dia Mirza attended the Jaipur Literature Festival where she spoke about climate change. While speaking at the event, she broke down into tears. A video was released by ANI where she was heard saying: “Don’t hold back from being an empath. Don’t be afraid of shedding your tears..feel it.. feel the full extent of everything.It is good…it gives us strength…this is not a performance.” When she was offered a paper napkin, she refused to use it. The video went viral and netizens started trolling her. Some called her “Desi Greta Thunberg” while one wrote, “Meet Dia Mirza – Our Desi Sasti Greta Thunberg.”

Now, Dia has replied back to trolls with her tweets. Replying to a troll, she wrote, “Its called having a heart. Try it sometime. It makes you a part of the solution.”

Post the event, Dia gave a clarification on what made her emotional. She was sad due to the death of basketball player Kobe Byrant. ANI quoted her saying, “His chopper crashing in California disturbed me. It really upset me. There are different things that upset us on different days, but we take care of ourselves. I was overwhelmed because my blood pressure was low.”
