Dia Mirza and Vaibhav Rekhi name their son Avyaan Azaad Rekhi; Here’s what it means

In February this year, Dia Mirza took everyone by surprise when she tied the knot with businessman Vaibhav Rekhi. The couple exchanged wedding vows at day after Valentine’s Day. Their intimate, dreamy and eco-friendly wedding became the talk of the town. Dia also defied several societal norms by having a female priest perform her wedding ceremony. In short, Dia has never followed the conventional path and always believed in walking the talk.

Earlier today, Dia announced the arrival of her first son with husband Vaibhav Rekhi. Apart from sharing the first glimpse of her newborn son, the actress also revealed his name. The name Avyaan is of Indian (Sanskrit) origin and means “Name of Hindu Lord Ganesh… which means perfection.” One of the many names of Lord Ganesha, Avyaan means eloquent and the one who has no imperfections. How beautiful is that? Isn’t it? The Sanju actress revealed that her newborn son is still under the doctor’s observation as he was born prematurely. She also assured her fans that her son will be back home soon to his grandparents and elder sister Samaira.

Dia had an appendectomy during her pregnancy and suffered severe bacterial infection. Following which she gave birth to her son via emergency C-section.
