Veteran film actor Nana Patekar is all set to make a comeback in Vivek Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War. The upcoming film is touted to be India’s first bio-science film. The Vaccine War is based on the story of medical professionals who were behind the creation of Covid vaccines.
During the trailer launch event of The Vaccine War, Nana Patekar took an indirect jibe at recent blockbuster hits, Gadar 2 and Jawan.

During the event, he said, “Toh parallel cinema ka daur raha nahin. Jo raha hai wo yeh hai ke aap kaunsa thought rakhte hai. Nowadays, certain kinds of films are becoming hits. Recently, a film became a huge hit. I went to watch it Main wo film poori dekh nahi paa raha tha. Lekin wo film bahot chal rahi hai.”
He added, “Since it has worked, I feel that we’ll repeatedly make such films and compel viewers to like such films.” As he did not take any direct names, netizens and the media are quick to understand that he might be talking about Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. Speaking of which, both films are performing exceedingly well at the box office and are shattering records.

Now, Nana Patekar is gearing for the release of The Vaccine War. The trailer for the upcoming film was released on 12 September and will make you look at Covid with a new lens. Apart from Nana Patekar, the film also stars Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher and Raima Sen. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Vaccine War will release on 28 September. The film will witness a box office clash with Fukrey 3.
