Since the title of the film is Nikamma, when asked if Shilpa Shetty ever felt someone was being a Nikamma on any film set she has been on, she just laughed. “It has happened a lot of times that I have thought of some people as absolute nikammas. But wo main apne aap tak hi rakhungi. (But I will keep that to myself). That’s where I draw the line for those people. I really believe that whatever judgement I have about people, being a yoga practitioner, I have learnt along the course that judgement is truly a confession of your own character. When you tend to judge other people, it’s a confession of who you are. Every person and every soul comes with a purpose and maybe that soul’s purpose is to be a nikamma and there is something they have to discover and that time will also come. So, who am I to judge,” she shared.

Shilpa Shetty also opened up about the time when she felt like a nikamma, while also revealing the career path she had thought of for herself. “The point that I felt like an absolute nikammi was when my mom saw my prelims report. I had scored some 48 percent and that was disgraceful. But that happened because I was in SSC at that time and I was concentrating a lot on extracurriculars. I was a volleyball player and I was selected up to the Bombay zone. I was going to get selected for the state level but my mom saw my report and balled for the first time. She was crying and saying you will be absolutely useless. But my aim in life at that point was to be a volleyball coach, so I was like I am set. Afterwards, when I realised that my mom was upset about my scores, then I studied for 10 days and I got 73 percent,” she revealed.

The actress might have been missing from acting for a while but now she is all set for a power-packed comeback with some interesting projects as after Nikamma, she has her slice-of-life film Sukhee followed by her web debut in Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi.
