The highly anticipated film of the year, Kalki 2898 AD, is just a few days away from its release. As the countdown begins, fans eagerly await the grand cinematic spectacle. Before the film hits theatres, promotions are in full swing, adding to the excitement. The makers have now released an interview series with the entire star cast titled “The Kalki Chronicles.”

The interview has created a stir on the internet as the stellar cast shares their interesting experiences. One of the major highlights was when Amitabh Bachchan opened up about the rigorous process involved in applying and removing prosthetics for his role as Ashwatthama in Kalki 2898 AD. He shared that it took three hours to put it on and about 1.5 to 2 hours to take it off. He couldn’t move for three hours and had to sit still and cooperate with the makeup artist. Reflecting on the experience, Bachchan expressed, “The day I put on my makeup for the first day and went on to the set, I knew that this was worth it“. He committed and had faith in the craft.

The film draws heavily from mythological themes, featuring characters like Ashwatthama and Bhairava, who are rooted in ancient Indian epics. This blending of mythological figures with a futuristic narrative adds a unique depth and richness to the story. In the first episode of ‘The Kalki Chronicles,’ Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan shared his thoughts on the film. He highlighted the innovative blending of genres, stating, “The fact that we are able to mix mythology with something futuristic is so unique and very intelligent.”

The megastar further elaborated on the complexities involved in such a project, discussing potential challenges. However, he assured audiences, “By the end of the film, you will actually believe what you saw,” emphasizing the film’s immersive quality and the immense care taken in its production.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD features an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. The film is slated for release on June 27th.
