Tiger Shroff has opened up about auditioning for the role of the Marvel superhero, Spider-Man. He revealed he was ‘quite close’ to landing the part. Tiger, who has played the role of a superhero, in the 2016 movie A Flying Jatt revealed he had auditioned to be a Marvel superhero, even before that. He shared how he was almost a Marvel superhero.

The Heropanti 2 actor said that he even sent his showreel to the producers of Spider-Man. He mentioned that the producers were ‘impressed’ with his skills.

Speaking with ConnectFM Canada, opening up about his Spider-Man audition, Tiger Shroff said, “I had auditioned for Spider-Man. I had sent them my tapes also, my showreel.

He further added, “They (producers) were quite impressed as to what I could do. My pitch to them was ‘I’d save you a lot of money on VFX because I can do most of what Spider-Man can do’.”

During the interview, Shroff did not reveal the exact timeline. However, he did reveal that he was ‘quite close’ to landing the part. The actor said, “I was quite close to being a part of that.” Eventually, Tiger went on and voiced the character of Spider-Man in the Hindi dubbed version of the film Spider-Man: Far From Home (2017).

For the unversed, it was in 2015 that Tiger made his debut with the movie Heropanti. In the same year, Tom Holland was chosen to be the third actor to play Spider-Man on the big screen. He debuted as the superhero Spider-Man in the Marvel film Captain America: Civil War, the following year after he was brought on board. The actor went on to feature in many Spider-Man and MCU movies. Tom Holland played Spider-Man in three solo Spider-Man films and two Avengers movies too.

Before Tom Holland, actors Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield have played the roles of Spider-Man in the solo films since 2000.
