Before this gets your hearts racing faster, no, ‘Dil Se..’ is not being remade. However, if remade, Manisha Koirala surely has someone in mind, to portray her role, which was intense and innocence mixed in perfect measures. Any guesses who that actress might be, from the current brigade? Well, breaking the suspense, it is none other than Anushka Sharma.
Yes. It so happened that a leading daily put out an article as to which actress they would recommend in the role of Manisha Koirala, if ‘Dil Se..’ is ever remade, and that was Anushka. And Manisha actually approved the same. Not just that, Anushka too was overwhelmed by the fact that the legendary actress actually wanted to see her in her shoes. Here’s the Twitter conversation that flowed between the two.

Imagine being applauded by someone you admire so much. We get you, Anushka.
‘Dil Se..’ was a Mani Ratnam venture, and the third of his terror trilogy movies, after ‘Roja’ and ‘Bombay’. The movie was set against the backdrop of insurgency in the North-east area, and had the most unusual love story blossoming between a terrorist and a journalist who is already engaged. The movie starred Shah Rukh Khan, Manisha Koirala and Preity Zinta in lead roles and is still considered as one of the finest. Not just this, the music by AR Rahman is unforgettable and forms a part of many playlists, to date.
Well, now that we know whom Manisha wants to see in her role, we wonder who can do the roles of SRK and Preity. Quite a though, eh?
On work front, Anushka, whose last production venture ‘Phillauri’ failed to make a mark at the box office, will next be seen in her next home production ‘Pari’ the first looks of which have already created a stir.
Manisha Koirala, on the other hand, had made her comeback with a heartwarming slice-of-life ‘Dear Maya’, which despite its good content, could not generate moolah at the box office.
