Veteran actor Dilip Kumar was hospitalised on Sunday (June 6) morning after he had complained of breathing issues. He was admitted to PD Hinduja Hospital. Reportedly, he has been diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion. He is under the care of cardiologist Dr. Nithin Gokhale and pulmonologist Dr. Jalil Parkar.
When ETimes asked Dr. Parkar about Dilip Kumar, he said that he has been put on oxygen support and is diagnosed with “bilateral pleural effusion along with a drop in oxygen saturation.” He added, “But he is stable and not in the ICU. If all goes well, he may be discharged in 2-3 days”.
On Sunday morning, a tweet was posted from Dilip Kumar’s account about his health. The tweet read: “Dilip Sahab has been admitted to non-Covid PD Hinduja Hospital Khar for routine tests and investigations. He’s had episodes of breathlessness. A team of healthcare workers led by Dr. Nitin Gokhale is attending to him. Please keep Sahab in your prayers and please stay safe”.

After the tweet, “get well soon” messages are pouring in for the thespian. Also, National Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar visited the actor in the hospital.
Now, a new tweet from his handle read: “Don’t believe in WhatsApp forwards. Saab is stable. Thank you for your heart-felt duas and prayers. As per doctors, he should be home in 2-3 days. Insh’Allah.”

It was last month, the 98-year-old actor was hospitalized for a regular health check-up and was discharged after two days.
