Dinesh Vijan planning rom-com universe with Sidharth Malhotra & Janhvi Kapoor?
As per a recent Peepingmoon report, Maddock Films’ Dinesh Vijan – after shelving the previously planned thriller film Spider with Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, is now all set to make a rom-com flick with the duo. Just like the thriller, this film – tentatively titled Param Sundari, will also be directed by Dasvi fame Tushar Jalota. Read on to know what the insider revealed.
A source – familiar with the development, told the portal, “Dinesh Vijan had initially signed Sidharth and Janhvi for a gritty thriller, with Tushar on board as the director. However, over time, both Dinesh and Sidharth realized that the script had limited potential at the box office, as audiences now prefer to watch thriller content on OTT platforms rather than in theatres.”
The insider continued, “They mutually decided to scrap the project and started exploring other story ideas with Tushar. After mulling over several ideas, they zeroed in on a romantic comedy, which Janhvi also liked and quickly came on board. It’s the same team with a new script, finally ready to take off.”
Maddock Films setting up rom-com universe?
The latest romcom has tentatively been titled Param Sundari, which is named after a popular song from Maddock Films’ Mini starring Kriti Sanon.
Although the plot and other details of this rom-com are currently unknown, it’s believed to be a family-centric romantic comedy, similar to Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. As per the report, the upcoming Sid-Janhvi film will feature an ensemble supporting cast and will likely go on floors in November or December. The rom-com is currently in pre-production.
