Dino Morea is one of the popular actors in the industry. Over the years, Dino has been a part of films like Gunaah, Acid Factory, Dus Kahaniyaan, and Brahm among others. The actor has also acted in web series across various OTT platforms, including Mentalhood, Hostages, Kaun Banegi Shikharwati, and The Empire. The actor’s journey to success wasn’t an easy ride. He has been through ups and downs in his career. Recently, Dino sat down for an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble and spoke about getting terrible offers, being jobless, and a lot more.
Dino recalls getting terrible offers in his career
The actor shared, “It’s some of the movies that I chose which didn’t really work. And when films don’t work one after the other, then you keep wondering that what’s going on and that’s when I made that conscious decision to just say no to any work that was really not good.”

Dino Morea continued, “I made that decision in 2011 or 12 I think. Every offer that came to me after that was just terrible and maine sabko naa bol dia. I’m happy I did that. I saw those films also which released and if I was part of those films my same colleagues were saying ‘yaar kaisi picture kar raha hai tu?’. And when I didn’t do films, my same colleagues would be saying, ‘Dino, why are you not doing films?’. So, ek darr paida ho jata hai aur insecurity hoti ki what’s gonna happen and am I gonna get work or not going to get work?’” Dino went on to add that he waited for 5 years to get a good offer.
Dino reveals how OTT changed things for him
He said, “The shows opened up everything again. From Mentalhood, Tandav to Empire. Empire just changed everything because audiences also saw me in a new way.”
When asked if he ever thought of doing projects for the sake of money, Dino responded saying, “Ya. I thought about it, but then I was like ‘why?’ because agar yeh picture bhi karunga, it’s not gonna take me anywhere. It’ll take me further down. I kept saying no. It was a scary time.” When asked how difficult it was financially, Dino revealed he ‘invested in some businesses but it wasn’t easy’.
Furthermore, Dino spoke about knocking on the doors asking for work. The actor said, “I go and do screen test. Abhi bhi kar raha hu. Initially, I used to think mujhse screen test kaise? Mai kyu karu? Kaam toh bohot kiya hai, but I screen test for even Empire. I wanted them to be confident that I can pull it off. But I was always prepared and I worked on myself when I was getting no work. I mean, what is my job? My job is to knock on producers’ doors, directors’ doors and however big I am I don’t care. If I want to work with people, I’ll say I want work. That’s my job. So, I do my job all the time. I go and knock on doors and say ‘listen guys, give me a job. Give me work. I want to work. I’m still there.’ I did that and nothing used to happen. I guess when the time is right it will happen.”
During the candid conversation, Dino also opened up about relationships and discussed his stint down South as well before pan-India became a trend in itself.
