Released in 2011, Anees Bazmee’s Ready – featuring Salman Khan and Asin Thottumkal in the lead, was loved by the audience despite mixed reactions from critics. Having released over a decade ago, fans have recently begun demanding a remake or sequel of the popular film. Now, during a recent interview, the director opened up about Ready 2 and whether or not the film is in the pipeline. Read on to know what he said.

Anees Bazmee on Salman Khan starrer Ready 2 demand

During a recent conversation with Times Now, Anees Bazmee reacted to the growing demand for the sequel of Ready. While praising Salman Khan’s comic timing in the 2011 hit and stating how keen he is on renting with the superstars, Bazmee revealed there aren’t any concrete plans for Ready 2 yet. The director was quoted saying, “Salman Khan’s comic timing is incredible in Ready. I feel if we are able to do it, we can deliver a wonderful film once again. We will definitely give it a thought. I would love to work with Salman Khan again. My films with him have been memorable. Ready toh superhit thi hi aur No Entry is a cult film.”

About Ready

Directed by Anees Bazmee, the 2011 action-comedy was the official remake of Srinu Vaitla’s 2008 Telugu film of the same name. Alongside Salman Khan, the film also starred Asin Thottumkal, Paresh Rawal, Mahesh Manjrekar, Manoj Joshi, Manoj Pahwa, Puneet Issar, Sharat Saxena, Sudesh Lehri and many more. Released on June 3, 2011, the film broke all the records for a non-holiday film and grossed a lifetime global collection of Rs 180 crore against its Rs 30 crore budget. The film received mixed reviews from critics, who praised its music, humour and Khan’s performance, but criticised its length and script.

Khan, Bazmee projects

On the work front, Salman Khan is currently hosting Bigg Boss 18. His next big screen outing is AR Murugadoss’ Sikandar which will release in 2025. Bazmee, on the other hand, is gearing up for the release of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Starring Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, Madhuri Dixit, and Vidya Balan in key roles, the film will release in theatres this Diwali, clashing with Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again.
