Filmmaker Llyod Baptista has confirmed the remake of ‘Sadma’, even though Kareena Kapoor Khan won’t be a part of it, as reported earlier.
Apparently, Kareena was busy with ‘Ki & Ka’ when the offer went to her. Due to date issues, she couldn’t take up the project.
Rumours also had it that the makers approached Vidya Balan as well, who turned it down. Llyod, however, cleared the air saying the film never went to Vidya.
“I request media to relax on this matter and all details of the film shall come out soon. This is a very big film and I want to do full justice to its remake. No decision shall be rushed. We have roped in leading casting director Mukesh Chhabra to do the casting for the film and the names will be revealed after being locked,” he said.
Interestingly, the remake is going to be a bilingual film, with Hindi as well as English version.
“Yes, I will first shoot the ‘Sadma’ remake in Hindi and then next year I will shoot it in English. We are simultaneously locking the star cast for both the films and both the films will have a different star cast,” the director added.
‘Sadma’ is known for Sridevi and Kamal Haasan’s phenomenal performance. We eagerly wait to see who among the present generation actresses gets into her shoes finally!
