Ayushmann Khurrana is going through a purple patch in his career. The power-house performer has been enthralling the audience with his impeccable choice of novel scripts. In one of his upcoming film ‘Bala’, the actor will be seen playing Gaurav Rawat who suffers from premature balding man. The film’s teaser was dropped recently and everyone absolutely loved it.

Now National Award-winning director Praveen Morchhale has accused the writers and makers of ‘Bala’ of copyright violation.

Talking about how the film’s idea is actually his, Praveen told Mumbai Mirror, “I read a news article on ‘Bala’ being a satirical comedy about premature balding, which was an idea I had conceived in 2005. I worked on it for two years and registered the story with the Film Writers’ Association (FWA) in 2007. After compiling information from various sources, I have arrived at the conclusion that ‘Bala’ is very similar to my story and screenplay.”

Praveen has already filed a case against ‘Bala’s writer Niren Bhatt and producer Maddock Films in the Bombay High Court. Praveen has clearly stated that he is not doing all this to hog limelight. “If my idea or screenplay has been borrowed, completely or even partly, they will be liable to an injunction from the court. This case is filed to make a statement that you cannot just take off on somebody’s copyrighted idea or screenplay,” he told the tabloid.

Interestingly, Maddock Films have clearly stated that they are not aware of any such case nor they have ever met Praveen. Now let’s see how this case unfolds in the court of law.
