Salman Khan-starrer ‘Tubelight’ has failed to make a mark at the box office. The collection of the movie is very bad, and it has burned a big hole in the pockets of the distributors. The distributors, who had bought ‘Tubelight’ for a whopping amount, have faced losses. However, now it is said that Salman will be giving them Rs 55 crore for the losses they have faced.
A source was quoted by Bollywood Life as saying, “Distributors will meet Salim Khan today to discuss the matter. Salim saab and Salman are contemplating returning nearly Rs 50-55 crore to them so that they don’t bear the brunt much.”
A distributor told a daily, “Salman’s films can collect Rs 100 crore in three days, but this time, ‘Tubelight’ reached the three-figure mark after a week. Single screen owners in small cities have suffered the most, with many incurring losses of over Rs 1 crore. The total loss amounts to Rs 40-50 crore.”
If these reports turn out to be true, we won’t be surprised as Salman is known for his generous nature. (Also Read: Salman Khan kickstarts shooting for Aanand L Rai’s next with Shah Rukh Khan)
