Salman Khan recently made an exceptional gesture when he decided to pay back the distributors of his film ‘Tubelight’, after it failed to perform at the box office. ‘Tubelight’, in fact, stands for a rare occurrence when a Salman Khan film didn’t succeed to stir the box office. Usually, his films, especially the holiday releases, sweep off many records.

And now, if reports are to be believed, then NH Studioz, the distributors of Shah Rukh Khah and Anushka Sharma-starrer ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ has requested the actor to follow Salman’s footsteps and refund them.

Incidentally, NH Studioz was also the distributor of ‘Tubelight’. Narendra Hirawat, the owner of the company, has reportedly suffered a loss of total Rs 60 crore, including ‘Tubelight’ and ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’. However, it is up to Shah Rukh to take a call whether he wants to refund the distributors or not, and there’s no legal binding in the distributors’ favour. Earlier, the actor had refunded the distributors 50% of their loss after ‘Dilwale’ failed to live up to expectations at box office.

Reports state that Hirawat has also sent a message to SRK, conveying the massive loss that they faced in the recent past. However, the actor’s spokesperson didn’t yet issue a statement, confirming this.

‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ was an Imtiaz Ali venture, and people had huge expectations from it upon its release. However, the movie failed to impress critics and audience alike, and the negative word of mouth further proved to be a thorn, thus pushing it on a path of being a massive box office failure. Neither Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the genre of romance, something which comes to him naturally, nor Imtiaz’s travelogue inspired style of storytelling could save the film.
