‘Dostana 2’: Karan Johar announces Lakshya as his ‘suitable boy’ for Kartik Aaryan-Janhvi Kapoor starrer sequel

We all were aware that there were going to be three leads in Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana 2’ out of which two were Kartik Aaryan and Jahnvi Kapoor. Now, the third lead has finally been revealed as Karan Johar took to his social media to make the official announcement.

Karan Johar took to his Instagram to make the revelation as he wrote, “Both happy and excited to introduce the new kid on the Dharma block! LAKSHYA will be making his debut with us in #DOSTANA2 and from thereon, we hope to start a solid cinematic journey together! Please welcome @itslakshya and shower him with all your love and blessings (sic).” The ‘suitable boy’ is none other than hit TV show ‘Porus’ star Lakshya Lalwani.

Talking about him, Karan told Bombay Times, “We believe in introducing new talent to the film fraternity. We are proud to have introduced over 20 first-time filmmakers and seven actors in the recent past. We are excited to introduce Lakshya, the newest addition to the family. We will be introducing him in ‘Dostana 2’.” The filmmaker added, “He was chosen after a series of meticulous auditions and test shoots. We are thrilled to engulf him in our creative world and look forward to creating celluloid magic together.”

Lakshya also took to his Instagram to share his excitement as he wrote, “Overwhelmed, grateful & down right EXCITED for this wonderful new beginning! Thank you for this welcome into the #Dharma family, can’t wait to get started on #Dostana2! @Dharmamovies (sic).” Lakshya has a 4 project contract with Dharma Productions, as per reports. These projects would include films and digital shows as well.

‘Dostana 2’ will be helmed by Collin D’Cunha and is likely to go on floors in October this year.
