Double XL teaser: Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi question bodyweight stereotypes in slice of life drama

Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi have come together for a slice-of-life drama Double XL. The social comedy is helmed by Satramm Ramani and written by Mudassar Aziz. Today the makers of the film have unveiled the first teaser and it is all about questioning body weight stereotypes.

Double XL teaser featuring  Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha was shared by the film’s production house T-Series. The 30-second teaser gives a glimpse of the protagonists’ looks and chemistry.

The production house took to Instagram and sharing the teaser captioned it as, “A glimpse of #DoubleXL fun, that is set to come your way! ? A story of friendship and dreams filled with masti is coming in cinemas near you on 14th Oct 2022.

Double XL teaser begins with Huma and Sonakshi’s characters sitting on a bench in a foreign city. Huma makes a joke about the world managing to find body fat even when a woman is wearing an oversized loose kurta. To this, Sonakshi, responds, “And boys’ demands are weird. They want a big bust and a small waist.” The two friends are next seen sharing a hearty laugh.

Apart from Sonakshi and Huma, Double XL also stars Zaheer Iqbal and Mahat Raghavendra. The film tackles the prejudices around female body types and obsession with weight.

Directed by Satramm Ramani, the film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vipul D Shah, Rajesh Bahl and Ashwin Varde, Saqib Saleem, Huma Qureshi and Mudassar Aziz. It is scheduled to be released on October 14.
