90s’ diva Mamta Kulkarni, who has been a part of iconic films like ‘Karan Arjun’, ‘Khiladi’ and more, is in the news for an extremely wrong reason. She is apparently the mastermind behind one of the biggest drug racket busted by Indian police. A non-bailable warrant had been issued against her and her husband by Thane Session court in Rs 2,000 crore Thane drug haul case.
A recent update on the same case states that Thane Session Court has now declared both of them as absconders. Apart from that a report also states that Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has declared Mamta and Vicky ‘proclaimed offenders.’ That means the duo can be arrested from anywhere in India, by any given agency.
The case began when police nabbed two people carrying controlled drug ‘Ephedrine’ worth Rs 12 Lakh. On further investigation, police realised that the drugs are being supplied by Avon Pharma Life Sciences Private Limited factory in Solapur, allegedly owned by Vicky Goswami. Police then recovered approximately 18.5 tonne of ephedrine from the said factory costing approximately Rs 2,000 crore. Vicky Goswami is known to be a drug lord and post marriage, it is said that Mamta too has joined his team. (Also Read: Mamta Kulkarni denies drug-running charges)
