Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol and Pooja Bhatt to feature in R Balki’s next; Deets inside

Filmmaker R Balki, who is known for several hits like Cheeni Kum, Paa and Pad Man, is grabbing headlines as he recently announced a new thriller. As per the latest reports, the movie will feature an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Pooja Bhatt, and Shreya Dhanwanthary in lead roles.

Talking about his new project, Balki told, “After months of waiting, for me, it is exciting to start shooting anything. And to make a film in a genre that I haven’t attempted before is even more exciting. I have had the idea for a long time but never quite got around to writing it, and while it’s fundamentally a thriller, it banks so much on these four stunning performers. I just can’t wait to get into the edit room.”

He also expressed his joy over Sunny joining the cast. Talking about Dulquer he said that he feels that he is one of the most charming actors in Indian cinema today. While he cannot reveal much about his character, he said it is quite cool. Dulquer will be paired opposite Scam 1992 star Shreya Dhanwanthary.

Balki said, “I just knew that I would eventually work with this talented girl. She is one of the most exciting and contemporary performers and I am looking forward to the on-screen chemistry between her and Dulquer.” Shreya took to her Instagram to make it official. She shared the photo of a news report and captioned it as, “R frickin’ Balki. Sunny frickin’ Deol. Dulquer frickin’ Salmaan. Pooja frickin’ Bhatt! And me. I’ve been screaming nonstop. I think I need to calm down.”

When asked about Pooja, Balki said, she is clarity personified and expressed that she was born to be in front of that camera and on-screen. Speaking of the release, the movie is slated for an early 2022 release. According to reports, the yet-to-be-titled film’s shoot will take place in and around Mumbai. Are you excited about the movie?
