Actor Vicky Kaushal recently shared an inspiring story about Chhaava director Laxman Utekar. He revealed that Utekar’s journey in the film industry began in humble circumstances. He not only worked as a spot boy but was also an office peon, used to clean toilets before climbing the ranks to become a successful director.

Kaushal praised Utekar’s determination and hard work, calling it a story of resilience and passion for filmmaking. The Hollywood Reporter questioned him about Chhaava director Laxman Utekar, “He started his journey as spoytboye, the became an assistant, then a Dop, then an actual director. How does it shape the story telling when you work with such a director who has grown up in such as way.”

To which Vicky Kaushal revealed, “Laxman sir is a biopic in a making, he really is because spotboye se phele he was an office peon in one of the office where he used to clean toilets. That’s how his journey began, he had a wada pav ka thela in Shivaji Park. He use to sell vada pav and today he is the director of Chhaava.”

Furthermore, talking about his journey, he said, “He is really a guy who I considered a friend, a mentor, who I learned so much from as a human being. We are really happy that we are born in that way and we now have a personal equation also which is far deeper than a director and actor. I connect with human being like him and get inspired.”

Chhaava, Utekar continues to prove his mettle as a filmmaker who knows how to connect with audiences, turning his struggles into a motivating tale for aspiring artists and filmmakers alike.
