Ekta Kapoor finally opens up on being a single mother via surrogacy

Filmmaker Ekta Kapoor is one of the fiercest women in Bollywood. She is fearless in her actions and we have seen that she is not much affected by public opinions. Ekta and her brother Tusshar Kapoor have broken the stereotype and both got their kids through surrogacy. Recently, Ekta spoke about her decision of having a child through surrogacy and how early she had planned it.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Ekta said, “I had stored my eggs when I was 36. Had a calling for a long time. I don’t know what was it. I don’t know I thought I might get married, might not. Very late, if it happens. Or it may never happen because I am not gonna do anything just for the sake of it. I have always been such a nonconformist, there was no way I would…(conform to marriage).”

She said that Tusshar’s decision of having a child through surrogacy had given her the strength and confidence about herself. She said her mother told her to have the child then but she told her she’d do it when the time would be right and via a surrogate. “And then one day we got to know my brother (Tusshar Kapoor) wants to do it. And he’s done it! And he’s come and told us and he’s done it. ‘I’ll be a single father’. Now both my parents are looking gobsmacked.”

Ekta welcomed her son Ravie in January 2019 and she recently celebrated his first birthday for which she had thrown a grand party. It is so lovely that filmy people like Ekta Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor and many others are going in for the boon of surrogacy and becoming single parents. On this women’s day, we applaud Ekta Kapoor’s decision to the hilt.
