Producer Ektaa R. Kapoor is India’s content czarina and co-founder of television production powerhouse Balaji Telefilms. She has a huge hand in shaping the television world. Starting Balaji in 1994, Ektaa has given popular shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and many more. She has also ventured into the OTT space with ATL Balaji. Now, all her achievements have been paid off well as Ektaa R Kapoor will receive the 2023 International Emmy Directorate Award.
It was announced on Tuesday by Bruce L. Paisner, President & CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The International Academy’s Special Emmy will be presented to Kapoor at the 51st International Emmy Awards Gala, on Monday, November 20, 2023, in New York City. Ektaa took to her Instagram and penned a heartfelt note expressing her gratitude and happiness.

The Naagin producer shared, “Overflowing with humility and exhilaration as I receive this recognition. The award holds a cherished spot in my heart, symbolizing a journey that transcends work. Kapoor is credited with revamping India’s television landscape, pioneering an entire genre of television content and heralding India’s satellite television boom. Under the Balaji banner, she has created and produced more than 17,000 hours of television and 45 films and launched one of the country’s first Indian OTT platforms, Alt Balaji.
