The Bollywood Industry is shaken up by the ongoing #MeToo movement as several renowned names have made it to the alleged offender’s list. Recently, prolific filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani was accused of sexual misconduct by one of his assistant directors of ‘Sanju’. Ever since then, some people have either expressed their shock at this news or have stood by the filmmaker’s side.
Actor Emraan Hashmi is currently busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Why Cheat India‘. During one such media interaction, the actor was asked about his opinion on the allegations levelled against Rajkumar Hirani. Emraan said, “See I would not like to comment because first there has been no proof. The director himself has said that the allegations are baseless. So commenting on things which haven’t been proved yet won’t be the right thing to do.”
Applauding Tanushree Dutta who brought this movement in the film industry, Emraan shared, “It’s very nice that she brought this movement in the forefront. Because it was necessary as there are several men not just in this industry but several other industries too who misuse their position and harass women. So yes this is a very positive wave brought in our industry by Tanushree. ”
