Did you know Emraan Hashmi REJECTED Aditya Roy Kapur’s role in Aashiqui 2?

Emraan Hashmi is one of the talented actors in Bollywood. Over the years, Emraan has been a part of films like Gangster: A Love Story, Awarapan, Jannat, Raaz: The Mystery Continues, and The Dirty Picture among others. In his latest film, Emraan delivered a terrific performance as a villain in Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3. Now, in a recent interview, Emraan made an interesting revelation. The actor revealed that he was offered Aditya Roy Kapur’s role in Aashiqui 2 but rejected it.

Emraan Hashmi rejected Aashiqui 2

Aashiqui 2 starred Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. The duo’s chemistry had won many hearts. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Emraan Hashmi revealed he was offered Aashiqui 2. The actor shared, “Mohit approached me first for Aashiqui 2, and I was like this would work with actors who are fairly new, who don’t have a roster of past movies or an image with the audience and there would be a sense of discovering a fresh pair.”

Emraan added, “I don’t ever have regrets with films I didn’t do. They were never meant for me to begin with.” For the unversed, Emraan and Mohit have worked together in seven films – Zeher, Kalyug, Awarapan, Raaz: The Mystery Continues, Crook, Murder 2, and Hamari Adhuri Kahani.

Talking about Emraan’s latest film Tiger 3, it also starred Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Ridhi Dogra. Emraan as a villain impressed his fans. Bollywood Bubble gave Tiger 3 ‘4’ stars. A part of the review read, “Emraan Hashmi is menacing as the antagonist. He isn’t like your everyday villain, full of rage and fury. What sets him apart is his calmness. He is calculative more than impulsive. He tests Tiger in the most crucial circumstances. Emraan is the perfect yin to Salman’s yang. You want his character to lose, but it’s Emraan’s earnestness that makes you like him too a bit.”

The actor next has Showtime which also stars Mouni Roy, Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Raaz, and Shriya Saran among others. A few days ago, Emraan shared a video and gave a glimpse of his upcoming project. Showtime will release on Disney+Hotstar.

Kartik Aaryan to star in Aashiqui 3

On the other hand, Aashiqui 3 is on the cards. For the uninitiated, Kartik Aaryan has replaced Aditya. As per reports, Kartik will be romancing Triptii Dimri in Aashiqui 3.
