Emraan Hashmi reveals why he stopped doing kissing scenes in films: Producers took advantage of it

Emraan Hashmi recently opened up about his ‘serial kisser’ image in Bollywood.

Emraan Hashmi was once known as the ‘serial kisser’ of Bollywood because of his kissing scenes in films. Now, in a recent interview, Emraan opened up about his ‘serial kisser’ image and how producers took ‘advantage’ of it. Furthermore, he also revealed his wife’s reaction to his kissing scenes.

Emraan talks about his serial kisser image

When asked why he stopped doing kissing scenes in movies, Emraan told Bollywood Hungama, “It’s the voice of my wife and I listen to that. I haven’t added any kissing scenes in my films. In fact, from the beginning I wanted to tone it down in films, but an image of mine was created and a lot of producers took advantage of that.”

The actor added, “It became a staple thing to please the audience. When I see my films, I honestly feel that in some places those scenes weren’t required, but it was an awakening for an audience also. It was a lead for cinema, but I received the flak.”

When asked about his wife, Parveen Shahani’s reaction to his kissing scenes, Emraan said that she was once worried about it. He added, “Of course she did, but not anymore, because I don’t do those kinds of scenes anymore.” The actor further added that he has a kissing scene in his upcoming series, Showtime.

Showtime also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Mouni Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal, Shriya Saran, Vijay Raaz, and Mahima Makwana. The Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar directorial is slated to release on Disney+Hotstar on 8^th March, 2024.
