Emraan Hashmi starts working on a documentary on cancer

Actor Emraan Hashmi has started working on a documentary that aims to build and increase awareness on cancer. The actor, whose son Aayan defeated a rare type of cancer a few years back, took to Twitter and wrote, “Work on a docu on cancer has begun. It’s in it’s initial stages. it’s imp to create awareness about ‘the C word”.[sic]

It was a draining journey as his son almost battled with death. Soon after he overcame the same, Emraan also penned a book titled ‘The Kiss of Life: How A Superhero and My Son Defeated Cancer’. It is a thorough narration of Emraan’s early life, his proximity to cinema that later earned him fame, his marriage with girlfriend Parveen Shahani, birth of Aayan, his encounter with cancer and their struggle to bring him back to health. On the professional front, the actor recently turned producer with forthcoming film ‘Captain Nawab’, the story of a spy which stars himself in the lead.
