Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ has been hitting the headlines for quite some time now. It was first in the news as we kept speculating about the cast. Next, rumours of Deepika Padukone being paid a bomb (apparently, Rs. 12 crore) surfaced and we also heard Bhansali was miffed at Deepika for revealing her fees. This time, it is rather a bad news. If reports are to be believed, then Eros International has backed out from the project.
It is being said that the huge budget allocated to the film was what led Eros to withdraw their backing. Around Rs. 180 crore will be spent till the project is completed. Incidentally, ‘Padmavati’ is not the only film they backed out from. Eros had also collaborated with Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shivaay’ but later opted out as the film’s budget elevated.
Will another studio venture in, now that Eros is out? Let’s wait and see…
