Esha Deol says, ‘It took a toll on her mental health’ after being called a drug addict
Esha Deol revealed that she was depressed when she was called a drug addict. Earlier, in Hema Malini’s biography titled ‘Hema Malini: Beyond the Dream Girl’ by Ram Kamal Mukherjee, she talked about how she confronted her mom and also offered to get her blood test done to prove her innocence. As per the reports of The Indian Express, she stated, “I would like to say that I am dead against drugs and I have never touched it. When that article (about her being a drug addict) came out, I was so depressed and hurt that I told my mom she could get my blood test done to check.”
She further added, “I would have never done anything that would put my parents to shame. Yes, I would party, I would have a few drinks with my friends, I had my share of fun and why not? That was the right age and time. At that age, everyone parties and drinks; the only issue was that I was in the public eye.”
On the work front, Esha Deol was last seen in Hunter: Tootega Nahi Todega, in which she starred alongside Suniel Shetty and Barkha Bisht. The web series was directed by Prince Dhiman and Alok Batra, and produced under Saregama and Saregama and Yoodlee Films. It is streaming on Amazon Mini TV.
Esha Deol is Dharmendra’s daughter from his second wife, actress-turned-politician Hema Malini. She also has a sister, Ahana Deol. Dharmendra and Hema tied the knot in 1980. Prior to Hema, Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur. They had two sons and two daughters from this marriage.
