Everything you need to know about the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai and around the globe

The globe is about to witness a heavily star-studded event which will all be for a cause that focuses on the welfare of the whole world. Today, September 25, the Global Citizen Live concert will be back after a year with amazing performances by Madhuri Dixit, Sachin Tendulkar, Varun Dhawan, Amitabh Bachchan, Ananya Panday and more at the Gateway of India in Mumbai. Here’s what you can expect from the global music festival which is all set to blow your mind.

Global Citizen is a 24-hour music festival that features world leaders, philanthropists and corporations which addresses various global issues like poverty, climate change, famine and advance vaccine equity. For the Indian Edition this year, the international advocacy organisation has joined hands with Wizcraft, Venkateshwara Hatcheries’ Venkys, Adani Group and Serum Institute of India to conduct this event.

The Indian Edition of Global Citizen will be hosted by Anil Kapoor and performances by Amit Trivedi, Ajay-Atul, Badshah and Tanishk Bagchi. The music festival will have appearances by Sachin Tendulkar, Madhuri Dixit and Varun Dhawan. The event will also feature Amitabh Bachchan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Arjun Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Janhvi Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Riteish Deshmukh, Sara Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha.

The Global Citizen Festival will also take place simultaneously in eight cities including New York, Paris, Los Angeles, London, Lagos, Rio de Janeiro, Sydney. The New York edition will feature performances by Coldplay, Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo, Meek Mill, Shawn Mendes. Celebrities gracing the event will be Billy Porter, Connie Britton, Katie Holmes, Padma Lakshmi, Rachel Brosnahan and others.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra will be seen donning the hosting hat for the Paris edition with Denis Brogniart. Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Black Eyed Peas, Doja Cat and Måneskin will be performing in Paris. On the other hand, Stevie Wonder, Adam Lambert, Demi Lovato, One Republic, 5 Seconds of Summer and more will be part of the Los Angeles edition.

Also waiting eagerly is the BTS ARMY as the boys RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook will be performing from Seoul. BTS has been making headlines for their new song My Universe with Coldplay.

Talking about where you can watch the Global Citizen Festival, it will be live broadcasted on TV and OTT so you can catch the event on Zee’s television channels and Zee5 online. Global Citizen Live is set to begin at 2pm ET / 11am PT/ 10:30 PM IST on September 25.
