It was 10 years ago that quite an unknown kid by the name of Arjun Kapoor, with roots in the Hindi film industry, made his acting debut with a romance tragedy Ishqzaade. Instantly, he connected with the audience and was deemed a star. A decade down the line, he has been proving his supporters right with the work that he is doing. But it all started with Ishaqzaade and in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble recently, Arjun Kapoor opened up about his first day on the film’s set and the first shot he gave in his life.
Going down memory lane, Arjun shared his experience of giving his first shot on the streets of Lucknow at night. “After the song Jhallah Wallah in the film, I come to kidnap and take away Gauahar on the bike, and that was my first night of shooting. I was already in Lucknow for 7 days, waiting, as Parineeti was shooting her portions in the house and then Jhallah Wallah had to be shot. That first night I was on set, I was put on the bike while I was still learning how to ride a bike then. I didn’t know how to ride it properly yet and in the first shot, the director put me on the bike with the cameraman. The thing that was going in my mind was that ‘picture band ho jayegi ye camera gir gaya to’, so I better not get it wrong. That shot is not there in the film but that night and the shoot went very well. I was quite happy with it. It was 23rd October 2011, 12:45 AM when I gave my first shot and it was the first day of the rest of my life.”

That scene was quite powerful in Ishaqzaade and it established Arjun as a force to be reckoned with, and till date he has just grown within that. Currently, the actor is in quite an exciting phase in his career with The Ladykiller, Kuttey and Ek Villain Returns in the pipeline, and there are many unannounced projects too that are keeping him busy.
