Armaan Malik is known as the ‘Prince of Romance.’ He is one of the talented singers of Bollywood in today’s time. Apart from Hindi, he is also known for singing in English. Currently, the singer has been receiving lots of love and appreciation for his recently released English song, ‘You.’
Now, in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the ‘Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon’ singer opens up on the criticism he has been facing for singing songs in English: “There have been comments on my posts and even on my YouTube videos saying ‘English mein mat gaa, Hindi mein gaa, tu usme behtar hai’ and these are comments I need to take with a pinch of salt because whenever you do something, people don’t expect you are going against the norm, against the rule book and there will always be naysayers and those people who will always be against what you’re trying to achieve. and it is totally fine. My aim is to firstly, do what I dreamt of, doing for all this while, get my fans to start listening to different music and also tracking fans that do listen to English music but never had an Indian to cheer for, a lot of Indian fans listen to English music and International artists but they never had an Indian artist of their own, they could cheer on their own on a global level and I feel like I am going to be that person for them.”

Further adding, Armaan said: “While there are people who might be like ‘You sing better in Hindi, better that you sing in Hindi only, don’t sing in English. Don’t try to be Justin Bieber.’ That’s what people say. I don’t think I am trying to be anyone. There are a lot of people having that misconception when you try something, and when you try something new. It’s good to have that opposition. Not everyone can be your fan, not everyone can be your lover but I think it’s about proving everyone wrong at the end of the day and with the each and every project that i am touching and doing, I hope that one person who said no, don’t sing in English is probably listening to one of the songs.”Â
Armaan also stated that how his first cross-culture song Echo was a barrier breaker. The song also marked the first collaboration of Armaan with K-pop artist Eric Nam. He said that it opened alot of doors for different Asian artists to collaborate with each other.
He also spoke about his recently announced USA tour. Sharing his excitement, the singer said: “It is going to be an eclectic show. It’s not just going to one kind of genre. There’s going to be multiple genre. So there’s going to be everything together.” Lastly, the singer also revealed that that he would love to collaborate with Exo member Chen and BTS.
