EXCLUSIVE: Ayan was the only one from both sides at the wedding: Ranbir-Alia on their best man

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have had a love story for the ages. Their dreamy reunion reached its next phase this year when they got married, and now they are even expecting their first kid together. While the manifestation of this relationship started long back, it eventually started materialising when the two met on the sets of Ayan Mukerji’s dream project Brahmastra, and in a recent exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the director took full credit for his contribution to their relationship.

When Ayan was asked how instrumental his involvement has been in the lives of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor for them to come together, the director unabashedly said, “I take full credit. Ranbir said one day that Wake Up Sid and all, I launched Ayan because he spotted me. So, I am like I brought them together, I am the matchmaker.”

Hearing that, Ranbir revealed, “Strangely, Ayan was both our best man in the wedding,” to which Alia went on to elaborate how. “We had the safa tying, pink for girls and yellow for men, he was the only one who had pink and yellow both,” she shared.

Ayan then went on to speak about his favourite couple, stating that theirs was a union that was written in the stars. He insisted, “I believe a little bit in energies and stuff that’s a little bit like written in the stars and I do think something very special happened with Alia coming into Brahmastra. Ranbir and me already had a connection, them coming together in life, the way the relationship is in the film, honestly, their personal life, to some extent, helped the film relationship as well because it was a very love at first sight, predestined kind of relationship, very instant. Actually Ranbir and Alia were also very instant in life, it happened very soon actually, it’s not like they took like a long time before they kind of just fit with each other. So, I do think this whole thing is something we can try to break it down intellectually but there is a very special energy at play between them.”
