EXCLUSIVE: Deepika Padukone gets emotional, shares she battled self doubt, confidence issues

Deepika Padukone has managed to carve her niche in the entertainment industry. The actress is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie titled Gehraiyaan. She is set to feature in the film directed by Shakun Batra. And Deepika has been busy promoting the film in full swing. We sat down with Deepika Padukone for a chat recently. In an exclusive interview with us, the Gehraiyaan actress revealed if she is a person who has had confidence issues and self-doubt.

Speaking with Bollywood Bubble, Deepika got emotional and opened up about battling self-doubt and confidence issues. She said, “Of course, who doesn’t? And kudos to those who don’t. But I have.”

The Gehraiyaan actress added, “But, I think, it’s taken a lot of work, years of work, different experiences, reflection, to get to a place today, where I am okay with the way I am, with my strengths and also my weaknesses. I’ve embraced who I am, with my strengths, with my flaws, and all of it. Now, this is who I am. So, yes, I’ve also been through that sort of journey.”

Deepika was even asked about how she manages to keep her vulnerabilities away from judgment. Talking about it, the actress said, “I think, I go about my life the way I have to, with honesty. Sometimes I’m goofy, sometimes I’m honest, sometimes I’m funny, sometimes I’m quite, sometimes I’m pensive, sometimes I’m reflective, but it is what it is. Even we, individually, should not fight with what we are feeling or what we’re experiencing. I think we’ve progressed from there to put on fronts.”

Meanwhile, Padukone’s upcoming movie Gehraiyaan is slated to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on February 11. The movie also features Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Dhairya Karwa in key roles.
