EXCLUSIVE: Fatima Sana Shaikh reveals what excites her about a role, says ‘I am not comfortable playing a normal character’

Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh marked her debut in Aamir Khan’s Dangal. The actress left fans and critics in awe of her acting prowess at such a young age. Post the blockbuster hit Fatima Sana Shaikh was seen playing varied roles in many blockbusters. The beauty is at present seen in Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor starrer Thar. The movie also features Anil Kapoor in a pivotal role.

During an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Fatima spoke about opportunities that came to her way post-Dangal.

Fatima Sana Shaikh told Bollywood Bubble, “I think that I have been very fortunate with the kind of roles that I have been given. Be it Dangal, Thugs of Hindustan, Ajeeb Dastaan or Ludo. Now I have Thar and some of the other films that I am doing all have me playing different characters. I think that is what pulls me as I love challenges. I am not comfortable playing a normal character. It does not excite me.”

“Being a child actor I have worked a lot and worked with all kinds of people. I know what I want and I know I want happiness and to make good relationships and do good work. But if I have to do some work that I do not like then I will do it because that is what is life and you have to survive. That’s my survival instinct to work. With Thar also it has a very different role. Just like Ludo was a different type of a role so is Thar. I have never played such a character before and again it is not me. It is also a character very away from my real-life character. Up to now, I have never played a character that is close to me or an extension of me so I love it,” says Fatima Sana Shaikh.
