EXCLUSIVE: Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar have a sassy take on their age-gap

Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar have had a dreamy love story. The two started dating away from the limelight and while the industry was abuzz with their relationship rumours, the two eventually tied the knot on December 25, 2020 in a beautiful traditional ceremony. While the couple has a lot of fans who love and adore them for their chemistry, there are some as well who always try to find ways to pull them down.

Last year, some false reports did rounds that Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar have a 12 years age gap between them. With the numbers being so exaggerated, the reportage did trouble Gauahar but she had said it before that it was Zaid who calmed her down during it. Recently, the couple got into an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble where they opened up about that whole incident.

When asked if Zaid is the person who grounds Gauahar in real life, the actress answered in the affirmative. She said, “Absolutely. I think he is way more mature than me in most things. I was like screaming ‘how can they write, they can just ask me the difference. Why are they writing rubbish numbers.’ But he was like, ‘Let them write, does that change the number between you and me? Do you actually become 12 years older? You don’t, so how does it matter.'”

Even Zaid had quite a sassy take on his own on the whole situation. He insisted, “Let it be 12, 20, it doesn’t matter. Let it be 6, 2 or let it be equal, people are anyway going to talk, it doesn’t matter.”

Gauahar went on to add that society’s perception needs to change. “Zaruri thodi hai ki agar ladka bada hai to hi aapki shaadi nibhegi. Wo do logon pe depend karta hai and that’s what he told me. (It isn’t necessary that your marriage will work only if the man is elder than the woman. It all depends on the two people in the relationship and that’s what he told me).” She even credited Zaid for always being practical. “And he does it with zero insecurities, zero unsurety, zero khit khit, zero expectations, nothing, none of that.”

No matter what anyone says or writes, Gauahar and Zaid do make for one of the most adorable couples out there in showbiz and their love for each other that they never shy away from expressing, just makes them worth shipping.
