EXCLUSIVE: Himansh Kohli FINALLY opens up on social judgment and backlash he faced after his breakup with Neha Kakkar

In a candid chat with Bollywood Bubble, we asked Himansh Kohli about the social judgment and backlash he faced after parting ways with Neha Kakkar. For the first time ever, Himansh broke his silence on the issue and revealed how people attacked him without knowing both sides of the story.

Opening up on the judgement and backlash he faced, Himansh said, “If you look at social media, there’s so much negativity. There are a lot of judgmental people. A lot of media people have also been very supportive to me but there were also some those who always wanted ‘mere views and likes’. Abhi bhi kya hota hai ki I keep on going on my news articles like for Wafa Na Raas Aayee (his latest music single). Sometimes I feel who to blame and where to blame. I am talking about Wafa Na Raas Aayee and the media is so irresponsible at times, kuch log ne thumbnail pe lagaya hai ‘Himansh Kohli ne diya apne relationship aur breakup pe jam ke jawab’. And when you go to see the content there’s nothing. In the video all you can hear about is me talking about the song. There’s no relevance to their title. At times, why I also blame the media for all such things as, ‘yes fine you will get the views, likes and shares’ but somewhere you are creating bigger threats for the actors because emotionally you are destroying the person. They write one article saying Himansh ne bura bola. Sab ke fans hai yaar sabke emotions hote hain. Mere bhi fans ke mere liye emotions honge. So it’s bad to poke these issues publicly. Every random YouTube channel is now a news reporter nowadays.”

Sharing if the backlash and judgement affected him and his family, Himansh said, “We are used to it now. This has been happening since 2018. There are some people who are stuck in 2018 whereas we are living in 2021. You can’t do anything about it. A lot of people say that I have done something bad to a person but I am happy because know I am not a bad person. I wouldn’t get a peaceful sleep for sure if I have done wrong to anybody in my life. Neither do I need to explain in public what is right and what is wrong. People should have the common sense that if something is wrong in someone’s house, you don’t create a scene outside. You solve it inside your house.” 

“I have had a conversation with my people and they also tell me that, ‘You know what? your talent will take you everywhere none of this is going to stay forever’. People have their opinion and they will always have it. Logon ko kehte rehna hai. Aapko apna karam karna hai. Toh aap decide karlo ki aap apna karam karoge ya yeh sochke usse cancel kardoge ki log kuch kahenge so why should I do it. So peace is where there’s no conflict and if there’s a conflict then you need to sort it out rather than going out in public. So to all the trollers and bashers- I really don’t care anymore. Neither do I want to talk about it. I am happy, she is happy. Neither do I want to get her name into this. The only thing I feel is people should have more compassion towards others.” he added further.

The actor signed off by saying, “The toxic behaviour of the people has nothing to do with us. Whatever was happening, I don’t even blame her for anything now. She did her bit, she was angry. She must have posted something. I was angry I didn’t post anything. But who’s more toxic? Toxic are the people now those who keep on poking you. Pandemic is a time when you are already seeing so much. Logon ko humein bura feel karana hai, negative feel karana hai, dabana hai artiste ko and they feel superior. This is exactly what is wrong. People will have to change their mentality first. We need to figure out where are we heading, what is wrong with us rather than putting a blame on anybody else. That’s why I chose not to speak up on this issue ever. Neither do I want to put any interrogative mark on her. There’s no hate, no love, there’s nothing between us now. So if we can maintain that, then people should also respect that.”
