Boney Kapoor and late actress Sridevi‘s daughter Janhvi Kapoor has come a long way in her career. The actress marked her Bollywoood debut with Karan Johar’s Dhadak and has since then been winning over fans with her acting chops. After Good luck Jerry, Janhvi has delivered a fantastic performance in survival thriller Mili. The movie released on November 4 in theatres.
Janhvi Kapoor starrer Mili has been produced by her father, Boney Kapoor. Believe it or not, but it’s the first time that the father-daughter duo are working together.
In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble host Nayandeep Rakshit, Janhvi has opened up on how Mili happened. She also imitated her father Boney Kapoor’s reaction when he decided to make the movie.
Janhvi said her father told her, “Watch this film Helen, just watch it we are making it.” I said we are making it and he said, “yeah I bought the rights.” I asked him you bought the rights what do you mean I havent watched the movie. He said, “Just Watch it we are making it.” Then I saw bits and pieces of the film because I need to call him and tell him dont buy the rights so I skipped through the film I said, “Papa I don’t think we should make another remake. I think should do something more like conventional. As I have just done a heavy film Gunjan that was quite heavy or Jerry was also an intense role. I think I want to chill mentally for a little bit so yeah yeah.”

She added, “But then he got very emotional and said, “You know even if you don’t do the film I’m going to make it I need to make this film. I need to tell this story.” He got emotional and started crying on the phone because he’s like you see the father and daughter in the film it’s like me and you beta. I saw you I saw you and he kept saying that and I was like oh my God he’s really emotional about it so I said okay I will meet Mathukutty you let him write script. I met him and then I fell in love with him. He is a gem of a person, so intelligent so talented. I decided to do this film just to work with this man as it was a great opportunity to perform.”
