Janhvi Kapoor has been winning over people who perhaps had expressed their reservations about her acting chops when she first debuted. Janhvi had to face criticism for being from the ‘filmy’ background and has been trying to evolve ever since. With each project, the actress has managed to show a scope for improvement which has convinced the audience of her earnest intent. During our interview, we asked Janhvi Kapoor if while signing Roohi, the thought that it could be a turning point in her career crossed her mind. It can be remembered that her mother and superstar Sridevi also featured in a double role in Chaalbaaz which is still considered one of the best movies in her filmography.

Replying to us, Janhvi Kapoor said, “No, I don’t think people sign films thinking that this would be a turning point. I just really liked the role and I think Roohi and Afza are very different from Manju and Anju.” She further explained that she did not even think of the role as ‘challenging’ but dived into it to learn something new. “No, I did not go into thinking that this will be a turning point or it will be a double role and will be challenging. My mindset was that this is exciting and will get to learn a lot. For some reason, it did not occur to me that this is a challenge or double role. I don’t know why,” Janhvi added. The film has collected nearly 11-12 crore nett in four days which is great news for multiplexes and single screens. The film has managed to get back the audience to a point and can be expected to go only upwards from here.
