Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma starrer Roohi has released in theatres this Friday and has hit a decent figure of over Rs 3 crore on its opening day at the box office. While the film received mixed responses from critics and the audience, we got a chance to interact with the terrific trio. Here, they discuss the comparisons being drawn between Roohi and Stree and with Janhvi’s mother and late superstar actress Sridevi’s Chalbaaz. They also speak about how they bonded over food and play a fun round of Who’s Most Likely To, revealing all their inside secrets.
Janhvi made her debut with Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khatter. The actress later went on to feature in Gunjan Saxena which released on OTT platform. The film received lots of love and Janhvi’s performance was duly noted. She also featured in a short film by Dharmatic titled Ghost Stories. Janhvi Kapoor’s efforts at getting better were yet again noticed and now with Roohi again the actress has been garnering praises for her efforts.
We asked Janhvi if she also feels that the initial criticism which she faced for being a star kid is somewhere fading and people have started to see her efforts. Agreeing that a shift has definitely happened, Janhvi said, “I hope so. I think they have become warmer towards me. But it is important to recognise that this was just the teaser and song, the film is yet to be watched and I hope after watching the film they feel the same. In every film, everyone gives their best and I have given it myself. I hope I continue to push myself with every movie and win over more people.”
