Actor Janhvi Kapoor who is the daughter of late veteran star Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor made her Bollywood debut with Dhadak which was bankrolled by Dharma Productions, owned by Karan Johar. Since her debut film, Janhvi has been proving her worth by picking some conventional roles. Janhvi Kapoor is all set to star in Good Luck Jerry but in a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Janhvi spoke about people’s perception because of having famous parents and the privileges she had before entering Bollywood.
In an exclusive chat with us, Janhvi said, “I hope so I still don’t think I’ve won everyone over at all. But I think it’s also important to understand ki aap kuch bhi karo life mein (if you do whatever in life) you can never win everyone over but I still have such a long way to go. the thing is I think when I first started out there was so much chatter aur main sunti rehti thi ki (and I used to keep listening) you’re undeserving of the opportunities and you don’t belong here and etc etc. ki kahi na kahi mujhe khud aisa lagne laga ki i’m like pushing myself on to be like. they don’t want to see me and I really love acting so I’m doing this for myself and maybe I don’t really have so much to offer. but I think off late I’ve realized that you know I love it so much and my relationship with my work is so honest that I do have something to offer I think that’s more than most people can say I don’t know about anything else but I know that I’ll be the hardest working person in any given circumstance and that’s the only thing that I can control and the only thing that I can do because I do come from a place of privilege toh agar itna bhi nah karu toh mujhe pack-up karke Tirupati shift hona chahiye (if can’t take the advantage then I should pack my bags and shift to Tirupati.)”

“I each to their own but it is obvious that we have skipped many lines. We are already privy to a certain amount of attention, to a certain amount of connections and most people don’t realize what it’s like to not have that. I don’t realize what it’s like to not have that. It is a big advantage to already know what your first film is I think and not have to struggle to be noticed by someone,” the Gunjan Saxena actor further added.
“You know it’s kind of ironic because what they are asking for is to not be judged for not coming from a place of privilege but so many of them judge you for coming from a place of privilege so it’s slightly hypocritical but listen, I’ll take it all with a smile because I’m getting to do what I love to do so if like three out of the ten people have a problem with where I come from then I’ll keep walking till I win them over also. what’s important to me is that I know that my focus is on my work and that I’m doing it with as much honesty and sincerity as I can,” Janhvi Kapoor told us.
