Celebrating each other, “For us, we are a home full of artists. My mom (Neelima Azeem) is a very humble person. She was actually on the stamp of India at the age of 16 as a classical Kathak dancer who was travelling internationally, she used to go to Russia and used to perform with Bolshoy. She was very young when I was born. She was only 21 when I was born. And I used to travel a lot with her as a kid. I have seen her in her prime, even though she has not done mainstream Hindi films, she was very popular. She started a show called Phir Wahi Talash and there she played a character named Shehnaaz and she was tremendously loved.” The Padmaavat actor explained how the people loved her character on the small rather than doing something on the big screens. Kapoor furthermore explained that he loves this kind of audience where one gets to showcase their talents with limited resources and with a niche audience.

He even gave an example of his father Pankaj Kapur when he did Karamchand and people went berserk over his shoe. “They were able to rise above the limitation that opportunity that it provided them and then they made something for themselves. I feel very fortunate, I feel when I started my career because I got my film release which was released on the big screen. I thought I was okay on my first film. My parents were very talented people who were exceptional at a very early age. I don’t think I was exceptional at an early age, I think I’m getting to my best now.”
