EXCLUSIVE: Kareena Kapoor Khan finally breaks silence on Sita pay hike row: I could do a film for free but these rumours were baseless

Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the most talented actresses in the Hindi film industry. She ruled the hearts of her fans since her debut film and there has been no looking back for the beauty.  Kareena has delivered a series of critically and commercially successful films in a span of over 20 years.  Recently there were rumours Bebo was offered to play Sita in an upcoming mythological period saga. Helmed by Alaukik Desai, the masterpiece will be a retelling of Ramayana from Sita’s point of view.

Soon after the rumours started doing the rounds, that Kareena Kapoor has hiked her fees and is demanding Rs 12 crores for the project. This news did not go well with the netizens and Twitterati soon demanded to boycott the Good Newwz actress. A few Twitter users claimed that Kareena Kapoor has hurt their religious sentiments by demanding so much money to play the role of Sita. Some stated that she is just not suitable for the part. Bajrang Dal also warned of protests if a movie based on Ramayana goes on floors with Kareena playing the titular part.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble host Nayandeep Rakshit, Kareena Kapoor finally addressed the rumours and called them baseless.

In an exclusive chat with us, Kareena Kapoor said, “I wasn’t offered the film also yeah, the idea is something that I can do a movie for free also. Its’ my decision and that is what I said this divide cannot be in cinema. No, it has to be like you want to see somebody for the love of their craft. Not because of who they are or where they come from and that’s what I believe in.  I am hoping that it is just like a section and not my entire audience.”
