Actor Prateik Babbar worked together with filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar in the latter’s latest released directorial, India Lockdown. The film is streaming on Zee5 from December 2 onwards. Ahead of the release of India Lockdown, we sat with the India Lockdown cast for a candid chat. During the interview, Madhur Bhandarkar recalled his hilarious first meeting with Prateik Babbar.
In an exclusive conversation with us, the India Lockdown filmmaker revealed how he met Prateik for the first time and shared details on it all. During the interview, Babbar revealed he had blue hair, the first time he met with Bhandarkar. He said, “The first time I met sir (Madhur Bhandarkar), I had blue hair.”

Madhur added, “Yeah, yeah. He came in with a very weird look you know. You know, whole my unit, my writer, my associate, everybody was reluctant to cast him. When the name came, three-four names were there.”
He continued, “I said, ‘Prateik Babbar ko cast karte hai’. Bola, sir aapka dimaag kharab ho gaya hai. Sir Prateik Babbar kahase yeh role mein jayega. (I said, ‘let’s cast Prateik Babbar’. They told me, sir you have lost it. They asked from what sense would Prateik Babbar fit in the role).”
The India Lockdown director further added, “And he came. He came with this whole mad max look. Pura baal blue, blueish. Pura glairs wagera. And he came chota trousers pehenke, yo dude, like that. And he came, and he sat and full energy like.”
