While we are yet to get a break from the reports of the protests that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ faced and is also currently facing, here’s one more film in the line which is all set to face the unnecessary wrath of a fringe group. Well, we are talking about Kangana Ranaut-starrer ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’.

Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha (SBM) – a Brahmin group from Rajasthan is against the film as they feel that movie is distorting the facts. They claim that the movie is based on Jaishree Misra’s book ‘Rani’ which has piece written on a love affair between Rani Lakshmibai and a British official, and the movie too will be having the romantic scene.

Well, we contacted the film’s producer Kamal Jain and he told us that there’s no truth in what SBM is claiming. He said, “There’s no truth in whatever these people are claiming. There’s no such scene in the film. We have taken the utmost care of the facts and figures in the film. It’s about a real character, it’s a biopic. We are making this film as a mark of respect for Rani Lakshmibai. If anybody talks wrong about her, it pains us because she is the one who sow the seed of India’s freedom. She is the symbol of valour, she is the symbol of heroism in our country. So, we were absolutely clear that we are making the film with full facts and figures, and not distorting the history at all. We are absolutely open if any authorised people want to come to our office and see the script.”

Founder president of Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha (SBM), Suresh Misra has stated that they have sent a letter to the makers and haven’t heard anything from them. However, Jain says that they haven’t received any letter. When we asked him about the letter, he said, “I don’t think I have received anything as such.”

Well, this reminds us the whole scenario of ‘Padmaavat’ where the makers were claiming that there’s no romantic scene between Rani Padmavati and Sultan Alauddin Khilji, but still the protests continued. Now let’s see what will be the fate of ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. (Also Read: Kangana proudly flaunts her ‘Manikarnika’ scar at LFW 2018)
